Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify several relevant features, including full-time work as the largest destination at 52%, and the high-income shares for government employees and freelance consultants. However, the response only partially covers the task: the salary table is discussed selectively, and some comparisons are inaccurate or unclear. For example, government employees had the largest share earning $100,000 or more (50%), while freelancers were at 40% and private-company employees at 30%; your final paragraph gives the first two figures but does not clearly compare all three. The claim that graduates were “struggling” at the start is not supported, since the table reports salaries after five years, not earlier earnings. A clearer overview and accurate reporting of the main destination and salary patterns would strengthen the response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation: the response begins with graduate destinations, then turns to salaries, and uses paragraphs to separate these topics. However, progression within the salary discussion is difficult to follow, and the final paragraph repeats information from the previous one rather than developing a clear comparison. Linking phrases such as “however” and “having said that” are used, but the relationships they signal are sometimes unclear. The opening sentence also does not establish a clear summary of both visuals. To improve, use a concise introduction, a distinct overview, and paragraphs that group related figures—for example, destinations first, followed by salary comparisons across the three employment sectors. Clearer references and fewer repeated points would make the organisation easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “full time,” “part time,” “government sector,” “private companies,” and “earning,” so the reader can recognise the main subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make meaning unclear, such as “full time Grad leads,” “some are not yet found,” and “stay closed to government sector.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “salries,” “goverment,” and “consutants,” which reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, repeated chart language such as “accounted for,” “salary band,” and “the proportion earning,” and check spelling carefully. Avoid informal or unsupported expressions such as “struggling” when describing data.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts some longer sentence forms, using connectors such as “however,” “as,” and “having said that,” but these structures are often faulty, and sentence boundaries are not consistently controlled. For instance, “The charts compares the the earning” has subject–verb agreement and article/plural problems, while “Overall the full time Grad leads with 52% as compares with 15%” contains an incorrect verb form and an unclear comparison structure. Tense and sentence construction also shift in “everyone were struggling and earning.” These errors sometimes make the intended relationships difficult to understand. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses, checking agreement, verb forms, articles, and punctuation.
