Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify several accurate features of the graduate destinations, including full-time work at 52%, part-time work at 15%, unemployment at 12%, and the two 8% categories. However, the response is incomplete: the salary table is only briefly introduced, and the final sentence stops after “$50000,” so its figures and comparisons are not reported. This leaves a major part of the task unaddressed and prevents a clear overview of salary patterns. The response also contains only 107 words, below the required 150, which contributes to the limited coverage. To improve, complete the table summary and compare the higher- and lower-paid groups, while checking that every category is accurately described.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic structure: it introduces the visuals, discusses graduate destinations, and then begins a paragraph on salaries. Linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “Whereas,” and “Moreover” show an attempt to connect ideas. However, progression is limited because the salary discussion ends abruptly, and the destination figures are presented as a sequence rather than grouped into a clear comparison. Some connectors are not used effectively; for example, “Whereas” does not lead into a contrasting clause, and “In contraste” introduces another item without a complete contrast. Organise the report into a concise overview followed by separate, complete comparisons of the chart and table, using linking words only where the relationship is clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “percentage,” “unemployment,” “graduates,” and “salaries,” so the topic is generally understandable. There is also an attempt to vary phrasing with expressions such as “To begin with.” However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “univerity,” “podtgrad,” “anythropology,” and “In contraste.” Some phrases are awkward or imprecise, such as “some which are not known” and “5% earns $25000+”; the latter also does not accurately state the salary band shown. Use the exact category labels and practise collocations such as “the proportion of graduates” and “earned between $25,000 and $49,999.” Proofreading would make your vocabulary clearer and more reliable.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mixture of simple statements and more complex linking, as in “Whereas, full-time podtgrad study and some which are not known remains the same 8%.” However, several sentences have faulty structure or agreement, and the attempted subordinate clause beginning with “Whereas” is not complete. In “full time work shows the highest percentage 52%,” the relationship between the figure and the sentence is not clearly marked; a construction such as “accounted for 52%” would be more controlled. The final sentence is also incomplete, ending after “$50000.” Use complete sentences, check subject–verb agreement, and punctuate comparisons clearly. More accurate control of these basic patterns would make the report easier to follow.
