Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify the broad subject of both visuals and report some relevant figures, including 52% in full-time work and 12% unemployed. However, the response addresses the task only minimally: it gives almost no accurate account of the salary distribution, and its overview misstates the chart by calling 5% the lowest destination when the lowest is part-time work plus postgraduate study. The salary comparison is also confused: 10% is the share of private-company employees in the lowest salary band, not the highest salary, and the table shows government employees most often in the $100,000+ band. The response is 17 words below the required minimum. To improve, give a clear overview and compare the main patterns across both visuals using correctly matched figures.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening introduces the visuals, followed by a paragraph that refers to the chart and table. Some linking expressions, such as “Overall,” “while,” and “on the other hand,” show an effort to connect information. However, there is little logical progression, and the second paragraph shifts between destinations and salaries without clearly separating or comparing them. Repeated references to “the anthropology graduates” also make the flow cumbersome, while the relationship between claims is sometimes unclear. Use a more purposeful structure: introduction, overview of the main patterns, then a paragraph on destinations and one on salary bands, with comparisons grouped logically.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The response uses some task-relevant vocabulary, including “full-time work,” “part-time work,” “unemployed,” “salaries,” and “proportion,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or misspelled forms make the writing harder to follow, such as “illustarates,” “slaries,” “seleries,” and “grarduates.” Phrases such as “moderate salaries” and “the highest salaries were the private companies” are also imprecise for describing the table. Build a small set of accurate chart-reporting expressions, such as “accounted for,” “salary band,” and “the largest share,” and check spelling and collocations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to form longer sentences and use contrast, for example in “while the unknown were the lowest proportion,” but control is weak and errors frequently obscure the intended relationships. The opening fragment, “the anthropoloy graduates which has been completed their studies,” has faulty clause structure and verb form. There are also problems with articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, as in “the anthropology graduates were part time work was 15%.” Most sentences rely on basic patterns, and the longer constructions are often difficult to interpret. Practise writing short, complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then combine related comparisons using accurate clauses and punctuation.
