Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify several relevant features, including full-time work as the largest destination (52%), unemployment at 12%, and government employees as the group with the greatest share earning $100,000 or more (50%). However, the report covers the charts unevenly: the salary table is only partly described, and the final sentence stops after mentioning the private-company figure of 10% in the lowest salary band. The claim that freelance salaries show a “rising sequence” is also misleading, since the shares rise to 40% and then remain at 40%, while other salary bands are not clearly compared. A clearer overview and accurate comparisons across all three employment types would make the key features more complete and developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has some organisation: it begins with an introduction, gives an overview, and then adds details about graduate destinations and salaries. This gives the reader a basic route through the information. However, the progression is not consistently clear. The second paragraph combines several destination figures, while the final paragraph shifts to salary data and ends abruptly, leaving the private-company comparison unfinished. Linking phrases such as “on the other hand” do not clearly signal a contrast in the sentence where they appear. Use separate, focused paragraphs for the overview, destinations, and salary comparisons, and connect figures with precise comparisons such as “by contrast” or “whereas.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “full-time work,” “postgraduate studies,” “government sector,” and “salary ranges,” so the topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “salary amount” and “highest number of salary” are not natural ways to describe proportions in salary bands, and “rising sequence” does not accurately describe the freelance figures. Spelling errors such as “OG,” “NUMBBER,” and “APPRXIMATELY” also reduce clarity. Aim for precise terms such as “proportion,” “share,” and “earnings band,” and check spelling before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts some longer sentence forms, including “Those who choose to work in government sector get…” and a comparison between graduates combining part-time work with study and those who are unemployed. However, sentence structures are often faulty, and errors in agreement, articles, and verb forms occur frequently enough to make parts difficult to read. For instance, “The given pie chart and table represents” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “most of the graduate choose” needs a plural noun and verb form. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several sentences joined or separated unclearly. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and comparisons while checking agreement and sentence boundaries.
