Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main destination, full-time work at 52%, and note that unemployment is 12% and part-time work combined with postgraduate study is the smallest category at 5%. You also make a useful comparison between the higher salary bands in freelance and government work. However, coverage is partial: the overview’s claim that private-company salaries “decline” is not supported, and the response does not report the private-company figures. The statement that “8% employment is not mentioned” is unclear; 8% refers to graduates whose destination is not known, while another 8% are in full-time postgraduate study. Some salary figures are also misreported, including “250000$” instead of $25,000–$49,999. Select the key patterns accurately and cover both visuals more evenly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction and overview are followed by details about graduate destinations and salaries. This gives the reader a general sense of the two visuals. However, progression is uneven: the salary discussion covers freelance consultants and government employment but stops before explaining the private-company data. Some links between ideas are unclear, particularly “The 8% employment is not mentioned, that which type of work the do,” which makes the relationship between the figure and its category difficult to follow. The overview also introduces a claim about declining private-company salaries that is not developed. Use clearer paragraphing for each visual, group related comparisons, and use precise references to categories so the information flows logically.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary such as “destination,” “unemployed,” “freelance consultants,” and “salaries,” so the reader can recognise the subject matter. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors reduce clarity. For example, “workers gots less prefernce” is not a natural way to describe the chart, and “salaries rose steadily” suggests change over time even though the table compares salary bands. There are also repeated misspellings, including “governamnet,” “gradutes,” and “salries,” as well as inconsistent forms such as “Antrhropology.” Aim for accurate chart language such as “accounted for,” “earned,” and “salary distribution,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including “Freelance consultants 5% salaries are…” and a sentence beginning “while.” However, the range is limited, and many sentences contain errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles, or punctuation that make the meaning harder to follow. For example, “The pie chart illustrates … and table shows” needs an article before “table,” while “part-time postgrad study are 5%” has faulty agreement and an unclear subject. The sentence “The 8% employment is not mentioned, that which type of work the do” is also structurally incomplete. Practise building clear subject–verb sentences and combining comparisons with accurate clauses; use full stops to separate ideas rather than joining them with commas.
