Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify the largest destination accurately: 52% entered full-time work, and you also report the 15% in part-time work and the 5% combining part-time work with postgraduate study. However, the response covers the salary table only minimally and includes a major misreading: the table gives salary distributions after five years, not salary increases in the first year. The claim that government-sector salaries will “double” is also unsupported; the highest salary band contains 50% of government employees, compared with 30% in private companies and 40% of freelance consultants. The overview is unclear and does not summarise the main salary pattern. The response is also two words below the required minimum. Include accurate comparisons across the salary bands and a clear overview of both visuals.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic structure: an opening identifies both visuals, followed by an overview and some supporting details. Linking expressions such as “Overall,” “Whereas,” and “Furthermore” show an attempt to connect information. However, progression is limited: the discussion moves from destinations to a vague statement about government salaries, then returns to the chart before ending with an inaccurate salary-table point. “Whereas” does not clearly connect the figures in its sentence, and the final sentence does not explain the table’s categories or comparisons. Organise the response into a clear overview and separate detail paragraphs for the chart and table, using comparisons to guide the reader through each set of data.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “undergraduate degree course,” “full time,” “part time,” “freelance consultants,” and “government sector.” There is also an attempt to vary wording with “illustrates” and “elucidates.” However, several inaccurate or awkward choices reduce precision, such as “maximum portion,” “largest ratio,” and “percent of the increment,” which does not describe the salary table. Spelling errors are noticeable, including “completeing,” “undergarduate,” “Anthropolgy,” “goverment,” and “doulbe.” Some phrases are also repetitive or unnatural, particularly “Anthropology students” where “graduates” would be more suitable. Use precise terms such as “proportion,” “salary band,” and “earned” to report the data clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “which is the largest ratio” and a contrast introduced by “While.” However, control is inconsistent, and several sentences contain errors or incomplete constructions. “The pie chart compares what kind of jobs … take in after completeing” has an awkward clause structure, while “Overall, maximum portion … are currently doing” has problems with article use and subject–verb agreement. The sentence beginning “While, the students in goverment sector…” is not a complete independent sentence, and “full tine posgraduate, unemployed and no known are under 8%” lacks clear grammatical structure. Check sentence completeness, agreement, and articles, and use straightforward, accurate sentences when describing figures.
