Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover both the graduate destinations and the salary table, and your overview identifies full-time work as the largest destination and government employment as the best-paid category. Several figures are reported accurately, including 52% in full-time work, 12% unemployed, and the 50% of government employees earning over $100,000. However, some salary descriptions are unclear or inaccurate: for example, freelance consultants’ 15% is in the $50,000–74,999 band, not simply “up to $50,000,” and the government figures are described using thresholds such as “below $80,000” that do not match the table’s salary bands. The overview also calls part-time work and postgraduate study the lowest figure without clearly distinguishing the 5% combined category from the 15% part-time-only group. More precise comparisons would strengthen the report.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on destinations, and a paragraph on salaries. This makes the two chart components easy to locate, and linking phrases such as “Overall,” “On the other hand,” and “In addition” help signal movement between points. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. Repeated use of “In addition” and “Furthermore” does not always show the precise relationship between figures, while “Following this” introduces the government data without a clear comparison. The salary paragraph would be more coherent if each employment type were described in a consistent order, using the table’s four income bands, and if comparisons between sectors were grouped together. Clearer referencing would also prevent ambiguity about which graduates each percentage describes.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “proportion,” “destinations,” “freelance consultants,” and “government sector,” and you attempt to vary expressions for earnings. However, several word choices and collocations are imprecise or unnatural, such as “hold largest portion,” “came last,” and “do part time work to fulfil their needs.” The repeated use of “below” to describe salary bands also obscures the exact categories, and “highly paid” is a broad description where a precise comparison would be more effective. There is also a spelling error in “Antrhropology.” Aim for accurate chart language such as “accounted for,” “salary band,” and “earned,” and use the table’s stated ranges rather than paraphrasing them into potentially misleading thresholds.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple statements and some more complex forms, including the contrast introduced by “While” and the relative clause in “consultants who earn…”. Meaning is generally understandable, but some errors in agreement and sentence construction remain. For example, “The Anthropology students who work full time has” should use a plural verb, and “freelance consultants who earn below $50,000 are 5%” does not form a clear grammatical relationship between the people and the percentage. The opening overview also uses a sentence fragment beginning “While part time workers…”. Work on complete clauses, subject–verb agreement, and consistent sentence patterns when reporting figures. More accurate control of these structures would make the comparisons easier to follow.
