Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You cover both the graduate destinations and the salary table, and your overview identifies the largest destination category: full-time work at 52%. You also accurately report the remaining destination percentages and note that government employees most commonly earned $100,000 or more, while private-company employees most commonly earned $50,000–74,999. The salary detail for freelance consultants is also accurate. This gives the response a relevant, clear foundation. However, the overview’s claim that freelance consultants and government employees were “mostly earning more than $100,000” is inaccurate for freelancers: 40% earned $100,000+, equal to the 40% in the $75,000–99,999 band, not a majority. Some comparisons are also left implicit. To strengthen the report, distinguish the highest salary band from the combined higher bands and compare the distributions more explicitly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on destinations and a final paragraph on salaries. This makes the two visual elements easy to identify, and phrases such as “Overall” and “after 5 years of work” help signal the purpose of each section. The progression is generally logical, but some connections are awkward or incomplete. For example, “Although…” in the overview sets up a contrast, yet the sentence does not clearly explain the comparison, and “While…” at the start of the final sentence leaves the contrast loosely attached. The destination paragraph also lists the smaller categories without grouping or interpreting them. Use linking structures that clearly connect complete comparisons, and organise related salary figures together to make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use a sufficient range of task-related vocabulary, including “destination,” “salary range,” “proportion,” “freelance consultants” and “government sector.” These terms allow you to describe both the chart and table, and the meaning is generally understandable. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “the staffs,” “workers involve in private companies,” and “graduates employed in three different sectors.” There are also spelling errors, including “emplyed,” “stidy,” “notknown” and “woking,” which reduce the accuracy of the report. Aim for standard employment terms and check spelling carefully. More precise expressions for salary bands and proportions would also help you compare the data without relying repeatedly on “earning” and “workers.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast with “Although” and a relative clause in “graduates who were working…”. The main information remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. In “More than half proportion of the graduates were seen emplyed as a full-time workers,” the noun phrase and article/plural agreement are faulty; “more than half of the graduates were employed full time” would be clearer. The sentence beginning “The other half proportion…” also has agreement and structure problems, while “the workers involve…” uses an incorrect verb form. Punctuation around sentence openings such as “And,” is also awkward. Practise accurate noun phrases, articles, agreement and participle forms, while retaining your attempts at complex comparisons.
