Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You cover both the destination chart and salary table, and your overview identifies the dominant outcome—full-time work at 52%—as well as the low figure for part-time work combined with postgraduate study. Most reported figures are accurate, including the 40% and 50% earning $100,000 or more in freelance and government roles. The response also makes useful comparisons, such as private-company employees being most concentrated in the $50,000–74,999 band. However, the overview’s claim that salaries “increased” is not supported: the table compares salary distributions by employment type, rather than showing change over time. Some comparisons are also incomplete, particularly for the middle salary bands. A more precise overview and fuller comparison of the table’s main patterns would strengthen the report.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, then separate paragraphs for the chart and table. This makes the two visual elements easy to follow, and phrases such as “Looking at the pie chart” and “Moving on to the table” signal the shift in focus. However, transitions are sometimes mechanical or repeated, especially “Whereas” and “Moving on,” and the final table paragraph packs several comparisons into a long sequence. The sentence beginning “In contrast, highest number…” is difficult to follow because another “in contrast” appears within it. Grouping salary bands more systematically and using clearer links between comparisons would create smoother progression and more precise cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use a suitable range of task-related vocabulary, including “proportion,” “opted for,” “employment,” and “salary,” and the reader can understand the main comparisons. There are also attempts at more formal reporting language, such as “headed for” and “remaining.” However, some choices are imprecise or unnatural for describing statistical data: “salaries … increased to highest” suggests a change over time, while “highest in among” and “fewest number” are awkward. Spelling errors such as “emplyees” and “sactors” also reduce accuracy. Aim for standard chart-reporting collocations such as “accounted for,” “the largest share,” and “earned,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and more complex sentences, including comparisons introduced with “Whereas” and “In contrast,” and the main information is generally understandable. However, some sentence structures are incomplete or awkwardly joined. For example, “Whereas, lowest number of graduates…” is not a complete independent sentence, and “In contrast, highest number … in contrast” combines clauses without clear punctuation. There are also errors with articles and agreement, as in “Highest number” and “only few decided,” and the phrase “after five year of work” needs a plural noun. These errors do not usually prevent understanding, but they limit accuracy. Practise complete comparative sentences and review articles, plurals, and punctuation around contrast clauses.
