Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover both the graduates’ destinations and the salary table, and your overview identifies employment as the main outcome and government work as the highest-paying category overall. Most destination figures are reported accurately, as are the key salary comparisons for the top bracket and the two lower brackets. However, the opening says graduates chose their paths “after five years,” whereas the chart shows their immediate destinations after graduation; five years applies only to the salary table. The overview also overstates government as the most dominant employer, since the chart gives destinations rather than employer sectors. Some salary information is omitted, particularly the $75,000–99,999 figures, so the two parts of the task are not equally developed. Clarify the chart’s time frame and compare the middle salary band to strengthen coverage.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a brief overview, then details on destinations and salaries. This makes the two visual elements easy to distinguish, and linking expressions such as “Overall,” “while,” and “However” help signal relationships. The progression is generally coherent, but some connections are awkward or unclear. For example, “Freelance consultants and government sector paid same 5 percent of workerws and 15 percent of workers…” compresses two comparisons into one sentence, making the figures harder to follow. The salary paragraph would be clearer if each employment type were described in a consistent order, moving from the lowest to highest band. Use more precise references and avoid joining several figures in a single sentence; this would make cohesion less mechanical and improve readability.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of task vocabulary, including “career paths,” “pursue further education,” “employees,” and “salary,” and the main meaning is usually clear. However, several choices are informal or imprecise for an academic report: “landed a safe employment” does not naturally describe the chart, and “paid” incorrectly makes the sectors sound like the paying agents rather than describing employees’ salary bands. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “goverment,” “mysyerious,” “consultans,” “secotr,” and “workerws,” which reduce accuracy. Prefer neutral, precise terms such as “were employed,” “fell into the salary range,” and “graduates whose destinations were unknown.” Careful proofreading and more natural collocations would make your vocabulary more controlled and appropriate to the task.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “graduates with not known career made up…” and a contrast introduced by “while.” Most sentences remain understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. In “Overall, majority of graduates,” the article is missing; “after five years of finishing” is an awkward time construction; and “5 percent of them chose to do both doing” has an incorrect verb pattern. There are also agreement and sentence-structure problems in “private companies paid 10 percent of labour” and “paid same 5 percent of workerws.” Use forms such as “the majority,” “after graduating,” and “chose to combine part-time work with postgraduate study.” More consistent control of articles, verb patterns, and sentence construction would improve accuracy.
