Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the main destination, full-time work at 52%, and include several other figures, so the response is relevant to the chart. However, the overview is incomplete and includes an inaccurate comparison: 5% combined part-time work with postgraduate study is the smallest destination, not simply part-time work, while the 8% full-time postgraduate group is not clearly distinguished from it. The table is introduced but not actually described with any salary figures, leaving a major part of the task unanswered; the claim that government pays the highest throughout is therefore unsupported in the response. The answer also falls two words short of the 150-word minimum. To improve, cover both visuals and compare the salary distributions using key figures.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a basic structure: an introduction, an overview, and a paragraph beginning with “Firstly” to report chart details. This gives the reader some sense of organisation. However, progression is limited because the final paragraph stops mid-sentence at “working while post d,” and the table receives no developed paragraph or comparison. The overview also combines several points in a long sequence, making the relationship between graduate destinations and employment salaries unclear. Linking phrases such as “Then comes” are used, but the information is mostly listed rather than grouped or compared. Complete the response, use separate paragraphs for the chart and table, and organise figures into meaningful contrasts.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “graduates,” “full-time work,” “unemployed,” and “employment,” and the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and some choices are inaccurate or awkward: “the table mentions the salaries” is less precise than describing salary bands, and “went up for full-time work” is not a natural collocation. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “Goernment” and “thorughout,” as well as inconsistent forms such as “undergraduates degree.” These slips reduce the clarity and polish of the report. Aim for precise chart language such as “accounted for,” “salary bracket,” and “the proportion of graduates,” and proofread spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You produce several understandable simple sentences and attempt more complex structures, for example, “The least number of graduates went for part-time work while completing their post graduates studies concurrently.” However, grammatical control is uneven. There are errors in agreement and sentence construction, such as “The employment is divided into three categories Freelance consultants…” and “the private companies pays highest initially.” The phrase “Most of the graduates went up for full-time work being 52%” also has an awkward, incomplete relationship between the action and the figure. Punctuation is sometimes missing, as after “categories,” and the final sentence is unfinished. Use clear subject–verb agreement, introduce figures with complete clauses, and check each sentence is complete.
