Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify the chart’s main destination as full-time work and note that this is the largest category, which is relevant. However, the response reports several figures inaccurately or unclearly: part-time work is 15% and unemployment is 12%, not equal; the other destinations are not all below 10%, since “not known” is 8% but part-time work is 15%. The salary discussion also confuses salary bands with employment types: 5% refers to the lowest band for freelance consultants, while the highest band is 40%; government employees have 50% in the top band. The overview is too limited and comparisons are not reliably explained. The response is 136 words, below the 150-word minimum, with 17 prompt words excluded from the count. Include a clear overview and accurately compare the main figures in both visuals.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic structure: an opening identifies the two visuals, followed by a short overview and a paragraph of details. This gives the reader some sense of the topic. However, the progression is limited, and the details move between graduate destinations and salary bands without clearly separating or organising the comparisons. Linking words such as “Moreover” and “Furthermore” are used, but they do not always make the relationship between ideas clear; for example, the sentence about freelance consultants’ 5% is followed by a government-sector figure without specifying the salary band. Group the destination figures together, then describe the salary table by employment type or salary range, using clear references and comparisons.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “full time work,” “unemployed,” “freelance consultants,” and “government sector,” so the subject is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings reduce clarity. “Salleries” and “sallaries” are repeated misspellings, while “other salaries” does not accurately describe the table’s salary bands. Phrases such as “more involved in full time work” and “highest than the other salaries” are also unnatural. Use precise terms such as “proportion,” “salary band,” and “earned,” and distinguish clearly between a job sector and an income range. Check spelling and collocation before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the reader can usually identify the broad topic. However, grammatical errors are frequent, and the range of sentence structures is limited. The opening has a missing verb and article (“The pie chart describes about Anthropology graduate…”), and “the anthropologist in work” does not form a correct noun phrase. Verb forms and agreement are also problematic in “graduates … involve in full time work that are 52%.” Several sentences run together without appropriate spaces or punctuation, such as the sentence beginning “Moreover partime work.” Practise accurate sentence patterns for reporting data, for example, “Full-time employment accounted for 52% of graduates,” and check articles, verb forms, agreement, and sentence boundaries.
