Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You identify several relevant destinations and report most of their figures accurately: full-time work is 52%, part-time work 15%, unemployment 12%, and both full-time postgraduate study and “not known” are 8%. You also give an overview that recognises full-time work as the largest category and part-time work combined with postgraduate study as the smallest. However, the response is incomplete: it stops just as the salary table is introduced, so it does not summarise or compare any salary data, a major part of the task. The opening also misdescribes the visuals as showing salaries rather than graduate destinations and salaries after five years. The response is 29 words below the required minimum. To improve, cover both visuals and select key salary comparisons, such as the high-income shares across employment types.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, an overview, and a paragraph describing several graduate destinations. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with” and “Additionally” help signal the order of information. However, progression is limited because the response ends with the fragment “In the other hand, freelance consultants 5%” and never develops the salary-table section. Some linking is mechanical, and the relationship between the overview and the details is not always clear. For example, the overview says the combined part-time-work-and-postgraduate-study group is the smallest, but the detail paragraph gives its figure without clearly comparing it with the other categories. Organise the response into a complete overview and separate, logically developed paragraphs for the pie chart and table, using links that show meaningful comparisons.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “full-time work,” “unemployed,” “postgrad study,” and “freelance consultants,” so the reader can recognise the main subject. However, the range is limited, and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “table chart,” “population,” and “higher than 52%.” “In the other hand” is also an unsuitable expression for introducing a contrast. Spelling errors, including “anthropogy” and “significintly,” are noticeable and reduce precision. Aim for concise, conventional report language: for example, describe the chart as a pie chart and table, refer to “graduates” rather than “population,” and use phrases such as “accounted for” or “the proportion was.” Check spelling carefully before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts both simple statements and a longer concessive sentence beginning “although,” showing some willingness to vary sentence structure. However, control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. For example, “the pie chart and table chart illustrates” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “the graduates who do full-time work where found” contains an incorrect verb form. The sentence “Full-time work is done by significantly higher than 52%” is not grammatically complete, and the final line, “freelance consultants 5%,” is a fragment. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention. Practise building clear comparison sentences with a subject and verb, such as “Full-time employment accounted for 52% of graduates,” and proofread agreement, tense, and punctuation.
