Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify the main destination, full-time work, and give its correct figure of 52%, while also noting part-time work at 15%. However, the response covers the task only minimally: the salary table is mentioned but not accurately described. For example, “Freelance consultants has consume 40% salaries” does not clarify that 40% are in each of the two highest salary bands, and the government-sector figures are omitted. The overview also misstates the destination data: 5% combined work and postgraduate study is not reported, and the 8% for full-time postgraduate study is confused with “no work.” The claim that part-time work is the lowest category is incorrect; the combined work-and-study category is lowest at 5%. The response is 15 words below the required minimum. Select the key figures accurately and compare both visuals.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening, an overview beginning “An overall,” and a later paragraph about the pie chart. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “Further,” and “However” show an effort to connect points. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the overview mixes destination information with salary claims, then the final paragraph returns to the chart without a clear sequence. Some references are unclear, as in “this students full time postgrade study or not know,” which combines separate categories. Several connectors do not express a clear relationship between ideas. Use separate paragraphs for the overview and the detailed comparisons, and group related figures together so the reader can follow each chart.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The response uses some task-related vocabulary, including “percentage,” “full time work,” “part time work,” “postgrad study,” and “private companies.” This gives the reader a general sense of the subject. However, the range is basic and repetitive, and inaccurate word choice or spelling often strains understanding. Phrases such as “percentage evaluation,” “students favor of,” and “consume salaries” are not natural ways to describe the data; “salaries” is also repeatedly misspelled as “saleries” or “ssalries.” The word “employes” is unclear in context. Build a small set of accurate chart-description phrases, such as “accounted for,” “the proportion of graduates,” and “fell into the highest salary band,” and check spelling before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both short statements and longer sentences, using connectors such as “Whereas” and “However,” but the grammatical range remains limited and errors frequently make relationships unclear. For example, “The chart illustrates percentage evaluation Anthropology” lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “Freelance consultants has” has incorrect subject–verb agreement. The sentence “8% students after completing the graduates has no work this students full time postgrade study or not know” contains problems with articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries, making the intended meaning difficult to recover. Punctuation is also inconsistent, including missing spaces after full stops. Practise forming clear subject–verb sentences first, then combine related information with accurate clauses and punctuation.
