Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You identify the chart’s main destination category correctly: full-time work is the largest at 52%, and part-time work plus postgraduate study is the smallest at 5%. You also include some relevant salary information, but several figures are misreported: 35% is the largest share for private-company salaries, not the highest salary band overall, and “not known” is 8%, not 15%. The response does not give a clear overview of the salary table or compare the three employment types accurately, and it ends mid-sentence. The required minimum of 150 words is not met; at 117 words, the report is too brief to cover the main features adequately. Develop a complete overview and select accurate comparisons from both visuals.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the report, beginning with an introduction and using “Overall” to signal a summary. However, the ideas do not progress clearly: the response moves from destinations to salaries, returns to destination figures, then starts another salary point before stopping. Repetition is also noticeable, particularly the repeated statements about full-time work and the 5% category. Linking phrases such as “In details” and “In case” do not make the relationships between points clear. Use separate paragraphs for the chart and table, and arrange each around an overview followed by selected comparisons. This would give the reader a more coherent route through the information.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The response uses some relevant task vocabulary, including “percentage,” “destination,” “full-time work,” “unemployed,” and “salaries,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate, such as “maximum value” for a chart category, “high value,” and “the salaries … after 5 year, work.” Spelling errors—including “gradiuates,” “detials,” and “freefance”—also reduce clarity and precision. Aim for standard chart-reporting language such as “accounted for,” “the largest proportion,” and “salary band,” and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish employment destinations from salary distributions.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You produce several simple statements that communicate individual figures, for example, “Unemployed accounted for is 12%.” However, the sentence structure is limited, and attempts to combine information often result in faulty grammar: “The salaries antrhropology graduates after 5 year, work the high value 35%...” lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “In case full-time cover is 52%” is difficult to interpret. Articles, possessives, and sentence boundaries also need attention. Practise building accurate comparison sentences, such as “The proportion earning $100,000 or more was highest among government employees, at 50%.” A wider range of correctly formed sentences would make the report easier to follow.
