Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

The response identifies the main destination, full-time work (52%), and notes the smallest combined category (5%), as well as unemployment (12%). However, it does not adequately summarise the table: it mentions only freelance consultants and gives just one salary figure, omitting the comparisons across salary bands and the other employment sectors. The overview’s claim that government provides the highest salaries is broadly supported by its 50% in the top band, but this is not developed with evidence. There is also a factual error in saying graduates did “full-time work with postgrad study” at 8%; this figure is for full-time postgraduate study. The response is 143 words, below the 150-word minimum, and eight words copied from the prompt were not counted. Cover both visuals accurately and select key comparisons.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph about graduate destinations, and a final paragraph beginning the salary discussion. This gives the reader some organisation. However, progression is incomplete because the salary paragraph stops after one category and does not compare the three employment types or salary ranges. Linking phrases such as “On the other hand” are repeated and do not always express a clear contrast, while “First of all” introduces details without a corresponding sequence of later points. Some sentences also repeat information, as in “There are 12% unemployed students at 12%.” To improve, group the destination figures together, then compare salary patterns in a complete paragraph, using concise and accurate transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The response uses some task-relevant vocabulary, including “full-time work,” “unemployed,” “postgrad study,” “freelance consultants,” and “government sector.” These terms make the general subject understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive: “a number of half students graduates,” “work as a full-time job,” and “government sector is provide highest salaries” do not express the intended ideas naturally. “Anthrolology” is misspelled in the opening, and “antrhropology” is misspelled later. Use precise terms such as “graduates,” “employment,” and “salary band,” and avoid repeating “students” where “graduates” is more accurate. Careful spelling and natural collocations would make the report clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts both simple statements and longer sentences, and the basic meaning is often recoverable. However, grammatical control is uneven, particularly with verb forms, articles, agreement, and sentence construction. For example, “after completed their undergraduate degree course” needs a grammatical clause such as “after completing their undergraduate degree,” while “the table depict” has incorrect subject–verb agreement. “Government sector is provide” combines incompatible verb forms, and “Freelance consultants was provide” is also faulty. The sentence “There are 12% unemployed students at 12%” is awkwardly constructed and repeats the figure. Build accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses; check that each subject has the correct verb and that each sentence expresses one clear comparison.
