Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify the main destination, full-time work at 52%, and include figures for several other categories, so the response is relevant to both visuals. However, the overview is unclear and includes unsupported trend language: these charts show a single set of destinations and salary distributions, not changes over time, so terms such as “increasing,” “decreasing,” “started” and “reached” misrepresent the data. The salary discussion also gives only a few figures and incorrectly says private-company salaries reached a lowest 30%; 30% is the share earning $100,000 or more, while the largest share is 35% in the $50,000–74,999 band. The response is 136 words, below the 150-word minimum. Add a clear overview and accurate comparisons across the salary bands.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate descriptions of the chart and table. This gives the reader some sense of how the information is organised. However, progression within paragraphs is difficult to follow because several statements are incomplete or joined unclearly, such as “The part-time work+ postdrad study and full time postgrad study decreasing 5% and 8%.” The overview also mixes categories without explaining their relationship, and repeated use of “and” and “while” does not reliably show contrast. Group related figures and use clear comparison links—for example, contrast the two largest salary bands in each employment sector—to make the information easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “full-time work,” “postgrad study,” “unemployed,” “salaries” and “government sector.” This shows a basic range suited to describing the visuals. However, spelling errors and imprecise or repetitive wording are noticeable, including “gradues,” “unversity,” “conswiderably” and “the biggest.” Some choices also suggest trends that the visuals do not show, such as “increasing,” “decreasing” and “reached.” Use accurate terms for proportions and rankings, such as “accounted for,” “represented,” “the largest share” and “the smallest proportion.” Check spelling carefully, especially for key labels, so the reader can identify each category without effort.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to report figures in both simple statements and longer comparisons, but sentence structures are often incomplete or inaccurate, which sometimes makes the intended meaning hard to follow. For example, “The bar chart compare show” combines two verb forms, while “The government sector also 5% and reached was the largest to 50%” lacks a clear grammatical structure. Subject–verb agreement and tense are also problematic in “The full-time work … was the largest” and “The unemployed increase 12%.” Build reliable sentences with a subject, verb and comparison: “Full-time work was the most common destination, at 52%, compared with 15% for part-time work.” Use present tense to describe the static visuals and check agreement and punctuation.
