Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify the main destination, noting that 52% entered full-time work, and you attempt to cover both the graduate outcomes and the salary table. However, the overview is too limited to summarise the main patterns across both visuals. Several figures or salary bands are misreported: for example, freelance consultants are said to earn 40% in the $100,000+ band, which is correct, but the $75,000–99,999 band is omitted; the government figures are combined unclearly, and the private-company figures are not accurately assigned to salary ranges. The response also gives little comparison between employment types. To improve, select the largest and smallest outcomes and salary patterns, then report each figure against its correct category and band.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response, moving from graduate destinations to salaries, and phrases such as “To start” and “And the next” signal some sequencing. However, the progression within each section is difficult to follow because information is presented as a series of loosely connected statements. The salary paragraph especially mixes categories and figures, making comparisons hard to identify. Some linking words are repetitive or awkwardly placed, and the opening and overview do not clearly guide the reader through the two visuals. Use separate, purposeful paragraphs for the overview, destinations and salary comparisons, and group figures by employment type or salary band. Clearer referencing would also help readers see which percentages belong together.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

Your vocabulary is sufficient to name several relevant categories, including “full time work,” “freelance,” “government sector” and “private companies.” However, the range is basic and repetitive, and inaccurate word choice or spelling sometimes makes the meaning difficult to understand. Examples include “pie chat” for “pie chart,” “illuates” for “illustrates,” “payment” for “salary,” and “some time to relaxing,” which does not clearly describe an employment category. “Gain salarie” is also an unnatural expression. Aim to use precise chart language consistently, such as “accounted for,” “earned,” “salary range” and “employment sector.” Check spelling and use the exact labels from the chart rather than paraphrases that change the meaning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts a few different sentence forms, including a contrast beginning with “While,” but most sentences are short, and several are incomplete or joined incorrectly. For instance, “While 15 persent people part time work” has no complete main clause, while “And The table…” is incorrectly attached to the opening and has inconsistent capitalisation. Articles, word order and verb forms are often missing or inaccurate, as in “52% people do work full time” and “8 persent are not known what do.” Punctuation also creates run-on sentences, particularly in the salary section. Practise complete subject–verb sentences and simple comparisons, such as “Fifteen per cent worked part-time, compared with 52% in full-time jobs.”
