Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

The response identifies the chart’s main destination, full-time work at 52%, and mentions several other categories, so it shows some awareness of the task. However, coverage is incomplete and key details are inaccurate: “not known” is reported as 7% rather than 8%, and the table of salaries after five years is not described at all. The overview also focuses on destinations without summarising the salary patterns, and the final sentence breaks off before making a comparison. As a result, the response only partially reports the information and its main features remain underdeveloped. To improve, give a concise overview of both visuals, then compare the salary bands across the three employment types using accurate figures.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening, an overview beginning “Overall,” and a detail paragraph introduced by “In details.” The destination figures are presented in a broadly understandable order, moving from the largest category to smaller ones. However, progression is limited because the salary table is omitted, and the final sentence ends abruptly at “there are different s,” leaving the response unfinished in meaning. Linking phrases such as “Moreover” and “At the end” do not create clear relationships between all the points, while repeated “there are” constructions make the flow mechanical. Use separate, purposeful paragraphs for the overview and each visual, and connect comparisons explicitly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The response uses some task-related vocabulary, including “full-time work,” “part-time work,” “unemployed,” and “postgrad study,” which helps communicate the chart categories. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “graduated students” and “jobs as full-time work” are not natural ways to describe graduates’ destinations, while “gighest” and “amoung” contain spelling errors. “In the market” is also an imprecise phrase in this context. Aim for accurate chart language such as “graduates entered full-time employment” and “the highest proportion,” and use precise salary vocabulary to report the table.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts both simple and longer sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “Overall” and one linked with “as.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure and verb forms frequently affect clarity. For example, “the graduated students … works” has faulty agreement and an unsuitable verb construction, while “which completed their graduated degree” uses an unclear relative clause. The sentence “there are 12% of people which are unemployed after five years of graduation” also shows problems with existential phrasing and clause structure. Several sentences are joined in ways that make their relationships difficult to follow, and the final sentence is incomplete. Practise clear patterns such as “52% of graduates were in full-time work” and check each sentence for a complete main clause.
