Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You cover both visuals and identify several relevant figures, including the 52% in full-time work, 12% unemployed, and the 50% of government employees earning at least $100,000. However, some key information is omitted or unclear: the table’s salary bands are not systematically compared, and the overview claim that graduates obtained “stable job” and “high salaried employment” is too broad to summarise the data accurately. The statement that private companies “paid least salary” also overgeneralises: their largest group is in the $50,000–74,999 band, but some earn $100,000 or more. To strengthen the report, give a clear overview of the main contrasts and compare the salary distributions across all three employment types.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on graduate destinations, a paragraph on salaries, and a concluding sentence. This gives the information an overall coherent arrangement. Linking phrases such as “To begin with,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” help signal stages, although some transitions feel mechanical and the conclusion repeats a general point rather than synthesising the main comparisons. Within the salary paragraph, the figures are presented in a somewhat unclear sequence, and “Other 40% and 30%” does not make the categories immediately clear. Improve progression by grouping related comparisons and using precise references, for example, naming each employment sector before reporting its salary distribution.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “proportion,” “unemployed,” “postgrad study,” “salary,” and “employment sector,” so the meaning is generally understandable. However, word choice and collocation are often imprecise, and spelling errors are noticeable: “illsutrates,” “govenrment,” and “compamies.” Phrases such as “more than half proportion,” “got salaries,” and “high salaried employement” are not natural in this context. “Pupil” is also unsuitable for university graduates. Aim for accurate, conventional reporting language, such as “accounted for,” “earned,” and “salary band,” and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish employment destinations from salary categories.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, and the main message is usually recoverable. However, errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and punctuation occur often enough to make some statements awkward. For example, “While, the table demonstrates…” is an incomplete contrast structure, and “three type of employment” lacks plural agreement. In “Freelance companies and Government sector has similar data,” the subject and verb do not agree, and the comparison itself is grammatically unclear. Commas are also misplaced in phrases such as “whereas, 12%.” Build accuracy by using complete, direct sentences and checking singular/plural forms and clause punctuation; for example, “The table compares salaries across three employment sectors.”
