Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover both parts of the task and include the main destination figures, as well as several salary comparisons. The overview identifies full-time work as the largest destination and unemployment as a notable outcome, while the salary section correctly highlights the high $100,000+ shares in government and freelance work. However, the overview is not fully precise: full-time work was 52%, not 50%, and part-time work alone (15%) is not the same as part-time work alongside study (5%). The phrase “a decent waige” also leaves the unemployment point unclear. Some salary bands are omitted, so the comparisons are less complete than the destination summary. State the key contrasts accurately in the overview and select a few comparisons across all salary bands.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction and overview are followed by one paragraph on graduate destinations and another on salaries. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Lastly” help readers follow the two chart sections. However, these transitions sometimes feel mechanical, and the overview’s “Moreover” and “In contrast” do not create clear relationships between the points. Some sentences also combine figures without a smooth comparison, particularly “government sector people are getting 50% $100k salary.” Use linking language to show contrasts and similarities, and make each paragraph progress from its main point to supporting figures. Clearer references to the categories would also improve cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “full-time postgraduate,” “freelance consultants,” “government sector,” and “salary,” so the reader can identify the subject and categories. However, the range and control are limited by repeated general wording such as “getting” and “people,” and several inaccurate or misspelled forms distract from the information: “waige,” “slaries,” “experiance,” “secrued,” and “goverment.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “part-time job in running” and “a decent waige of people.” Choose precise reporting verbs and standard collocations, such as “earned,” “were employed,” and “the proportion of graduates.” Proofreading spelling and word forms would make the comparisons easier to read.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and most of the intended comparisons can be understood. However, errors in sentence structure and verb forms recur. The opening sentence is missing “did” after “graduates,” and “even smaller portion had persue” has an incorrect verb form and lacks an article. In “15% have their part-time job in running,” the construction is not grammatically controlled; “15% were in part-time work” would be clearer. There are also problems with articles, agreement, and punctuation, as in “Firstly freelance consultants 40% are getting…” and the comma splices around “while.” Build accurate sentences around a clear subject and verb, and check tense consistency when describing the chart.
