Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You cover both visuals and give a relevant overview: full-time work is the largest destination, while government employees have the greatest share in the top salary band. Most figures are accurately reported, including 52% in full-time work, 12% unemployed, and the salary comparisons at $100,000 or more. This addresses the task well, though some features are less fully developed: the overview’s claim that part-time work is “less than one third” is broad, and the table discussion omits the private-company distribution across the other salary bands and the government share at $50,000–74,999. To strengthen the response further, make the overview more precise and compare the salary profiles across all three sectors, not just selected bands.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, then separate paragraphs for the chart and table. Transitions such as “According to pie chart” and “Turning to the salaries figures” help signal the shift between visuals, and the information generally progresses logically. However, some linking is mechanical or awkward, particularly “Whereas” beginning a sentence after the overview and “while on the other hand” in the table paragraph. A few references are also unclear, as in “the 8% proportion occupied by Full-time postgrad study and same proportantion occupied by unknown category.” Use complete, smoothly connected comparisons and refer directly to categories or sectors to make the progression more fluent.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “proportions,” “accounted for,” “category,” “salary bracket,” and “annually,” and the reader can generally understand the comparisons. There is some attempt at varied phrasing, but inaccurate word choice, collocation, and spelling are noticeable and limit precision: “Anthorology,” “proportation,” “possess” for a share, and “find their way for” are not appropriate in this context. Phrases such as “the more salaries” and “the lowest bracket accounted for” also sound unnatural. Aim for accurate, conventional chart language—such as “share,” “earned,” “represented,” and “fell into”—and check spelling carefully, especially for key terms and category labels.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including comparisons with “while” and “whereas,” and the main message is usually recoverable. However, some grammatical errors affect clarity and control. For example, “more than half of propotion showing” lacks a complete, correctly formed clause, while “the government sector employees earning” needs a finite verb. The opening phrase “students what are they doing” also has faulty clause structure, and “the freelance obtained 40%” does not clearly express what the percentage refers to. Work on complete sentence construction, subject–verb agreement, and consistent verb forms. Recasting these examples as direct statements with a clear subject and verb would improve accuracy while preserving your comparisons.
