Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the main destination, full-time work (52%), and note unemployment (12%), while also attempting to compare salary groups. However, the response only partially reports the chart: it gives the wrong figure for “not known” (8%, not 5%) and omits the 5% in part-time work plus postgraduate study. The table discussion also misstates the comparison: consultants and government employees each had 80% earning at least $75,000, while private-company employees had 55%; “consultants followed 45%” is not supported by the data. The overview is unclear and includes the inaccurate claim that full-time employment is the largest proportion in both visuals. The response is also one word below the required minimum. Include a precise overview and select accurate comparisons from both visuals.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph about graduate destinations, a paragraph on salaries, and a concluding overview. This makes the two visuals easy to distinguish. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes disrupted by connectors that do not express the intended relationship, such as “While” beginning a fragment and “However” introducing information that is not a contrast. The final overview repeats earlier points but does not clearly synthesise the chart and table, and “both the types pie chart and table” makes the reference difficult to follow. Use complete sentences, group related figures more systematically, and make comparisons explicit so the reader can follow the main patterns without relying on repeated linking words.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “destination,” “graduates,” “employment,” “sectors,” and “earned,” and you attempt more formal phrasing such as “It can be vividly seen.” However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning harder to interpret: “undegraduate,” “diiferent,” “proption,” “conslutants,” and “catagories.” Some expressions are also inaccurate or unnatural, including “show falling in percentage” and “employment consultants” for freelance consultants. “Full time” and “postgard” are not reliably formed. Aim for accurate, conventional chart language rather than decorative wording, and check spelling and collocations carefully. A more precise vocabulary range would help you describe proportions and salary bands clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, and the opening sentence clearly introduces the chart. However, errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. For example, “While, part-time employment accounted for 15% which show…” is an incomplete construction followed by incorrect subject–verb agreement; “and remaining two categories … are 8% and 5%” is also structurally awkward. Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, as in “However, The table” and “unemployed. and remaining.” The concluding sentence, “All time employment had the biggest proportion in both…,” is difficult to parse. Practise writing complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and use subordinate clauses only when their grammatical relationship is clear. Proofread punctuation and agreement as well as sentence boundaries.
