Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main destination, full-time work at 52%, and include several other categories, so the response is relevant and reports some key information. However, coverage is uneven: the salary discussion focuses mainly on the highest band and the $50,000–74,999 band, leaving the lower ranges and the $75,000–99,999 figures largely unreported. There is also a factual error: part-time work plus postgraduate study accounts for 5%, not 8%; 8% applies to full-time postgraduate study and unknown destinations. The response would be more complete with a clear overview comparing the main patterns in both visuals, followed by accurate, selected details from each.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a generally understandable order: it introduces the visuals, describes graduate destinations, and then turns to salaries. This gives the reader a basic overall structure. Within the paragraphs, however, some links are awkward or unclear. For example, “It 52% of graduates” lacks a clear grammatical connection, while “Remaining 12% are unemployed and some opt…” makes the relationship between the categories difficult to follow. The salary paragraph also moves between sectors and salary bands without a consistent comparison pattern. Use separate, clearly focused paragraphs and organise each set of figures from largest to smallest or by salary range. More precise linking and reference would make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “graduates,” “salary ranges,” “full time work,” and “highest salary category,” which helps communicate the topic. There is some attempt at more specific phrasing, such as “preferred to work part time” and “salary range.” However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural word choices are noticeable, including “demostrate,” “feild,” “consectively,” and “catagory.” Phrases such as “future choices” are also less suitable for describing destinations after graduation, and “after 5 years of service” is less precise than describing salaries after five years’ work. Check spelling carefully and choose standard chart-reporting terms to improve clarity and accuracy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast beginning “While those who…” and a sentence comparing salary percentages. The main information is usually understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. For instance, “It 52% of graduates started…” is missing a verb, and “Remaining 12% are unemployed” needs an article or determiner. The sentence beginning “While those who pursued…” is not complete as written, and “which make 8%” has an unclear subject and incorrect agreement. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after full stops and commas. Build complete sentences around each comparison and check articles, verb forms, agreement, and sentence boundaries.
