Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the main subject and include a few relevant figures, notably 52% for full-time work and 50% for government-sector salaries, so the response is not wholly unrelated to the visuals. However, coverage is very limited and several comparisons are unclear or inaccurate. The chart shows unemployment at 12% and part-time work at 15%, but calling their scores “quite near” is vague; the 8% figures for full-time postgraduate study and “not known” are equal, not equal “because of less hard work.” The salary table is also reduced to the top salary band, with no clear account of the other bands. Give a concise overview of the dominant destinations and salary patterns, then report accurate, relevant comparisons without unsupported explanations.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic sequence: an opening, a paragraph about graduate destinations, and a final paragraph about salaries. Connectors such as “To commence with” and “On the other hand” signal a shift between topics. However, progression within the paragraphs is difficult to follow because several points are joined without clear relationships, and the opening does not establish a clear overview. Phrases such as “Now a days not known and full time postgrad study students is at the same positions” make the intended comparison hard to interpret. Organise the response around the two visuals, use one main comparison per sentence, and make references explicit—for example, state which categories share the same percentage before explaining the comparison.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some task-related vocabulary, including “graduates,” “unemployed,” “full time postgrad study,” and “government sector,” which helps identify the chart categories. However, the range is limited, and several word choices or collocations make the information difficult to understand. “The finance of these anthropologists” does not accurately describe salary bands, while “on higher loss” is not an appropriate way to compare private-company salaries. There are also spelling errors such as “anythropologists,” “fianance,” and “orivate.” Use precise chart language such as “proportion,” “salary bracket,” and “earned,” and check spelling carefully. Avoid adding evaluative phrases such as “less hard work,” which are not supported by the data.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentence forms, including “as far as unemployed people and part time jobs individual is quite near to each other in score,” but control is inconsistent and the relationship between ideas is not reliably expressed. There are problems with sentence structure, agreement, articles, and punctuation: “the full time working people did the score of 52%” lacks a clear grammatical construction, and “not known and full time postgrad study students is at the same positions” has agreement and number errors. The opening also contains incomplete or awkwardly connected clauses. Build accurate simple sentences first, such as “Full-time work was the most common destination, at 52%,” then add controlled comparisons using “whereas” or “compared with.”
