Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover both the graduate destinations and the salary table, and your overview identifies full-time work as the largest destination and government employment as having the highest share in the top salary band. Most figures you report are accurate. However, some key details are incomplete or imprecise: the 8% figure for postgraduate study refers specifically to full-time study, while the 5% combines part-time work with postgraduate study. You also say the government sector offered “$100000” to most employees, but the table shows that 50% earned $100,000 or more. The overview could compare the salary patterns more fully, including that private-company employees were most concentrated in the $50,000–74,999 band. These omissions and unclear descriptions leave some features less fully addressed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for destinations and salaries. Sequencing is generally easy to follow, and transitions such as “To begin with” and “On the other hand” help signal shifts. However, the contrast marker “On the other hand” does not express a clear contrast between the two sets of information, and the salary paragraph moves through sectors without consistently comparing them. Some references are also unclear, such as “the same fraction” in the government-sector sentence, which requires the reader to infer that this means the 5% in the lowest salary band. Use more precise linking and comparison, and group related salary figures to make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of task-related vocabulary, including “proportion,” “graduates,” “sector,” and “salary ranging between,” so the main information is communicated. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “pursued” and “offered.” However, some choices are imprecise or repetitive: “freelance companies” does not accurately describe “freelance consultants,” and “offered” is less suitable than a verb describing what employees earned. Spelling and form issues such as “free lance” and “indivuals” also reduce accuracy. Aim for consistent, precise labels from the chart and use varied reporting language, for example “accounted for,” “earned,” and “fell within the salary band.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple sentences and more developed structures, including the overview sentence beginning “As for the salaries” and the comparison in “followed by 15% ... and then by unemployed individuals.” Meaning is generally clear, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “a majority of graduates worked a full time job and least proportion” needs an article before “least proportion,” and “52% graduates” needs “of” after the percentage. In “offered $100000 to majority of the employees,” the article is missing and the salary threshold is not expressed as a complete range or “or more.” Review articles, percentage constructions, and punctuation, while continuing to vary sentence structures.
