Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main destination pattern accurately: full-time work is the largest category at 52%, and part-time work combined with postgraduate study is the smallest at 5%. You also report several other destination figures correctly. However, the overview is partly inaccurate: 15% for part-time work is not the least share, and the table does not show that private-company employees are more common in the lower salary brackets overall. The salary discussion is also incomplete: it mentions only the lowest and highest brackets, without reporting the middle bands or comparing the distributions in detail. To strengthen the response, give a precise overview of the main salary pattern and support it with selected figures from across the table.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, an overview and separate paragraphs for the chart and table. This helps the reader distinguish the two visuals. However, progression is uneven: the overview makes claims that are not clearly developed later, and the final paragraph gives only a brief comparison of the salary data. Linking phrases such as “If we dig more into it” and the repeated “While” do not always create clear relationships between ideas; the last paragraph’s opening is especially difficult to follow. Use direct topic sentences and organise the table details by salary band or employment type, then connect comparisons with precise terms such as “whereas” and “by contrast.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “percentage,” “full time work,” “postgrad study,” and “salary brackets,” so the topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, such as “price bracket” for a salary range and “surpaced” for “surpassed.” There are also frequent spelling errors, including “Antropology,” “undergrade,” “indivisuals,” and “unemployes,” which make the writing less clear and less controlled. Aim for accurate, conventional language for describing data, and proofread key terms. For example, use “salary band,” “graduates entered full-time employment,” and “the proportion was twice as high” rather than less natural phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts both simple and more complex sentences, but control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. The opening sentence, “shows the percentage of what are Anthropology graduates did are completing,” contains several competing verb forms and an unclear clause. Other examples include “8 percent does full time work with postgrad study,” where the verb form and meaning are inaccurate, and “While, the salaries … there is same percent,” which lacks a clear grammatical structure. Articles, agreement and sentence boundaries also need attention. Build each sentence around one clear subject and verb, check tense consistency, and use a simple comparison structure before attempting longer clauses.
