Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main destination pattern accurately: full-time work is the largest category at 52%, and combining part-time work with postgraduate study is the smallest at 5%. You also include an overview and refer to the salary table. However, coverage is partial and some comparisons are unclear or inaccurate. The claim that private-company salaries are “lowest” because 35% earn up to $74,999 overlooks that this is a broad combined range; the table shows 10% in the lowest band and 30% earning $100,000 or more. The statement that freelance consultants “receive up to 99,999” is also imprecise, since the table gives separate salary bands. Report the key figures across all three employment types and clarify that the government sector has the highest share in the top salary band.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs describing the chart and table. This gives the reader some organisation, and phrases such as “Overall” and “Looking at the piechart” signal shifts in focus. However, progression is limited by repetition: the smallest destination category is mentioned twice in the chart paragraph, while several other figures are omitted. The overview also combines chart and table claims in a way that is difficult to follow, and the final paragraph moves between salary comparisons without a clear sequence. Use one paragraph for the destination figures and another for salary patterns, grouping comparisons logically and avoiding repeated information.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “accounted for,” “largest category,” “destination,” and “salaries,” so the topic is generally clear. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations reduce precision. For example, “full time work forms the largest portion in the destination of full time workers” is awkward and confusing; “the largest destination was full-time employment” would be clearer. “Salaries are highest” does not accurately describe the whole government-sector distribution, and “recieve upto 99999” is imprecise. Spelling errors such as “porportion,” “samllest,” “catecogry,” and “recicing” are noticeable. Aim for accurate terms such as “salary band,” “share,” and “earned,” and check spelling and hyphenation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the main message can usually be understood. However, grammatical errors are frequent, and attempts to combine ideas often produce faulty or incomplete structures. For example, “part time work with post graduate study constitute the least porportion the chart” lacks a clear preposition and has subject–verb disagreement; “40 % freelance consultants recieve upto 99999 after 5 years” is also missing a grammatical link between the percentage and the people. Punctuation and spacing are inconsistent, particularly where sentences run together after full stops. Practise complete sentence patterns such as “X accounted for Y%” and “Y% of consultants earned…”, checking agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries.
