Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 137 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you identify both advantages (e.g., 'boost their courage', 'growth mindset') and disadvantages (e.g., 'toxic guilt', 'ignores systemic barriers'), these points are presented in a fragmented, list-like manner rather than being fully extended or supported with examples. The lack of depth prevents a thorough exploration of the prompt. To improve, you must expand each point into a full paragraph with clear topic sentences, supporting evidence, and logical explanations to ensure the response is sufficiently developed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay lacks a clear structure. While there is an attempt to introduce the topic and separate advantages from disadvantages, the paragraphing is underdeveloped and the flow between sentences is often disjointed. Cohesive devices are used sparingly and sometimes incorrectly, such as the abrupt transition 'Also promote their efficiency'. The lack of a concluding paragraph further hinders the overall progression of the argument. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a clear focus, and use a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'on the other hand') to connect your ideas more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. While you attempt to use some topic-specific terms like 'growth mindset' and 'systemic barriers', there are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'do hard' instead of 'work hard' and 'caused of creates' which is grammatically and lexically awkward. The range is insufficient to express complex ideas with precision. To improve, focus on learning collocations (words that naturally go together) and avoid repeating basic verbs. Expanding your vocabulary related to education and psychology will help you convey your arguments more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Children thinks', 'it may caused of creates') and missing articles or prepositions ('in fulfil their desires'). The sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when attempting complex constructions. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing and capitalization. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of verb tenses. Proofreading for these fundamental errors will significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
