| Criterion | Band |
|---|---|

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses both the advantages and disadvantages of the prompt. The position is clear throughout, and the ideas are relevant. However, the development is somewhat limited; for instance, the point about 'peer's success' is a good observation but could be expanded with more specific examples or deeper analysis. The conclusion is brief and summarizes the main points effectively. To reach a higher band, ensure that each argument is fully extended with more detailed explanations or real-world examples to demonstrate a deeper understanding of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'While', 'Despite these advantages', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing (e.g., 'this approach' is used repeatedly). The flow is generally smooth, but more varied linking phrases would improve the overall cohesion and make the progression of ideas feel more natural.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'prosper', 'incompetent', and 'disregard'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'mental disturbance' (better as 'mental distress') and 'unexpected life's upcoming' (which is non-standard). Spelling is generally accurate, but the range of vocabulary is somewhat restricted, preventing a higher score. Focusing on more precise collocations would enhance the quality of the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('Numerous studies shows') and pluralization/articles ('every success belong', 'get mentally disturb'). There are also issues with sentence construction, such as the fragment in the first paragraph: 'While it also gives them immense pressure and mental disturbance.' Improving control over complex structures and proofreading for basic grammatical slips would significantly raise the score in this criterion.
