Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both the advantages and disadvantages of the prompt. The position is clear throughout, and the main ideas are relevant. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding the 'strong mind set' is a bit repetitive and lacks specific, well-explained examples. The example of the student struggling with math is a good start, but the explanation could be more detailed. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on your points with more depth and logical reasoning, ensuring that each paragraph fully explores the implications of the message discussed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. There is a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'Afterthat' and 'more over' are used incorrectly or lack proper punctuation. Additionally, the flow between sentences is sometimes disjointed, making the progression of ideas feel a bit forced. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words and ensuring better sentence-to-sentence transitions would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several spelling errors, such as 'motive' instead of 'motivate', 'independ' instead of 'independence', 'focous' instead of 'focus', and 'diffrent'. Furthermore, word choice is occasionally imprecise, such as 'strong mind set' or 'do a trouble'. While the meaning is generally clear, the limited range and frequent errors in spelling and word formation prevent a higher score. You should focus on learning collocations and proofreading your work for common spelling mistakes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences often contain errors. There are frequent issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and punctuation—for example, 'when children think they do anything they become more strong mind set ,Afterthat youth doing new task'. These errors are persistent and sometimes make the text difficult to read. To improve, you need to practice using a wider variety of grammatical structures, such as relative clauses and conditional sentences, while ensuring that basic grammar rules regarding tense and word order are followed consistently.
