Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both the advantages and disadvantages of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the argument regarding 'confidence' is mentioned in both the advantages and disadvantages sections without sufficient depth or nuance. The position is clear, but the supporting points lack specific examples or a more sophisticated analysis of the psychological impact of this message. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on your points with more detailed reasoning or real-world examples rather than repeating similar concepts.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the transition 'Conclusion, However to inform...' is awkward and does not function well as a concluding marker. Additionally, some sentences lack logical flow, such as 'that cause occur in a very miner cases,' which disrupts the progression of ideas. While there is an overall attempt at a logical arrangement, the lack of sophisticated linking words and occasional confusion in referencing makes the flow feel disjointed at times.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several spelling errors, such as 'challeging', 'mentaly', 'faliure', and 'miner', which indicate a need for more careful proofreading. Furthermore, word choices are sometimes imprecise, such as 'struggle path' or 'before time'. To improve, you should focus on using more academic collocations and ensuring that your spelling is accurate, as these errors occasionally draw attention to themselves and limit the sophistication of your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'that cause occur'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'help them to face the challeging'), and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'they might thought'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of capital letters after commas or at the start of sentences. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band for grammatical accuracy.
