Student answer (Band 6.0)

In the world, rural people are moving to cities in many countries which decreases the population in the countryside. Many people are moving for the jobs to earn money, to provide good education for the kids and to protect family which helps to change their living standards and will know the city life of real situations which helps kids to grow with outside knowledge.

For an example, in my life my family moved from a village to the city but not my sister family. I will compare both to tell life time examples. When we moved my parents started a footwear shop where we are slowly exposing to the outside world and started good education for ourselves but my sister family they lived in village and don't know more things in city and not a quality education.

On the contrary we lost some relationships for leaving the village rarely we will connect with our own persons but we got good education and we are working now. Where my sister not completed education and got married. Now a days we are helping to our parents by earning even it is little there is a hope we can live with that education. We know some knowledge about health policies or insurances where if live in village for sure we will not have that information. After coming to city my mom became a leader from dokra group which held in our city to take loans with less interest and repay in time.

If you move to city even if you are not frequently speaking with you relatives but still it worth change in your life for next generations.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the migration from rural to urban areas and provides a personal perspective on whether this is a positive development. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and relies heavily on a single personal anecdote rather than broader societal analysis. While the position is clear—that migration is a positive development for future generations—the argument lacks depth and fails to explore the negative consequences of rural depopulation, which would have provided a more balanced and comprehensive response. To improve, you should aim to discuss both sides of the issue more thoroughly and provide more generalized examples alongside your personal experience.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is often interrupted by awkward phrasing and a lack of clear cohesive devices. Transitions between sentences are sometimes missing or mechanical, such as the abrupt shift in the second paragraph. While the progression of ideas is generally understandable, the relationship between sentences is not always clearly signaled. The use of referencing is occasionally confusing, particularly when referring to 'my sister family' or 'our own persons'. Improving the use of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') would help to guide the reader more effectively through your arguments.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There is a reliance on basic, repetitive language, such as 'good education' and 'know more things'. Some word choices are unnatural or inaccurate, such as 'exposing to the outside world' and 'dokra group'. The essay would benefit from using more sophisticated vocabulary related to urbanization, socio-economic development, and migration. You should focus on learning collocations and topic-specific terminology to express your ideas with greater clarity and variety.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'my sister family'), incorrect verb tenses, and awkward sentence construction (e.g., 'we are helping to our parents by earning even it is little'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, which affects the readability of the text. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence patterns and proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect prepositions. Increasing the variety of complex structures while ensuring they are error-free will help raise your score.
