Student answer (Band 5.5)
it not a positive development because we lost our culture our festivals that were held in our villages our villagers moved to cities because they do not have facilities that fills their needs .
for their children their are no any schools and colleges for their health they do not have clinics and hospitals .during flood their houses flows in flood and they cannot do any thing they have shortage of food and nobody helps them .their are a lot of reasons that the people of village moved to cities .and these are the major concerns which I explains here .
Another major factor of their migration towards cities is that they cannot able to get their proper pay of their work . the price of wheat and other crops are very low during cultivation but when these crops are sold out from farmers their prices becomes high .
so farmers and poor villagers moved to cities for better passion to facilitate from better facilities .it is very shameful for us that we do not care our farmers brother and sisters that belongs to our beautiful villages .we should request to our Government that please work on villages .if we do not care of our villages the fertile lands of villages becomes the housing colonies and shopping malls . At that point we cannot do any thing .the beautiful villages would removed from our country .then the shortage of food comes that destroys the whole country . we have time that we can reverse this process and made a beautiful country which have both cities and as well as villages .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by identifying the migration as a negative development. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention reasons such as lack of facilities, poor pay, and food security, these points are presented in a list-like fashion rather than being fully explored with clear, logical progression. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments lack depth and specific examples. To improve, you should focus on expanding each point into a full paragraph with a clear topic sentence, supporting evidence, and a concluding thought that links back to the main argument.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay lacks a clear structure. There is no introduction or conclusion, and the paragraphing is inconsistent, with some sentences running together. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often repetitive or misused (e.g., 'and these are the major concerns', 'so farmers and poor villagers'). The logical flow between ideas is frequently interrupted by grammatical errors, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of your argument. Using a wider variety of linking words like 'consequently', 'furthermore', or 'in addition' would help improve the flow and coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is basic and often repetitive. You rely on simple words like 'facilities', 'villages', and 'cities' throughout the text. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'houses flows in flood' (should be 'are flooded') and 'better passion' (likely meant 'better prospects'). While your meaning is generally understandable, the lack of range and the frequent errors in word formation and usage prevent you from achieving a higher score. Try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to urbanization, socio-economic factors, and agricultural policy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'their are a lot of reasons', 'prices becomes high'), tense consistency, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragments or run-on sentences, and punctuation is largely absent or incorrect. You rely almost exclusively on simple sentence structures. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and practice using complex sentences with subordinating conjunctions like 'although', 'because', or 'if'.
