Student answer (Band 6.0)
Around the world, different countries have situations in which people have started shifting towards the cities. So the population in the village side start decreasing.
On the one side, Its a good thing to shift towards the cities. Some people have believe that there are more facilities in the cities as compared to villages. Furthermore the system of education and business in cities also in very good condition. Therefore people started moving towards the cities.
On the other hand, their is a negative impact of this shifting. When people are starting moving to cities, the natural beauty of village start diminishing to a large extent. At the same time the population also start decreasing to a dangerous level. It not solely affect the animals but also the agriculture sector as well. I know about a person who is currently living in the city but at the same time, he also dealing his animals and agriculture system in the village.
In my opinion its very good thing to shifting towards the cities. Because cities have more opportunities of work and education as well. In addition the facilities of health and daily life are also in good states. Situation of public transport also facilitates the citizens very well. Therefore I prefer to have a life in city sector.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the positive and negative aspects of rural-to-urban migration. However, the essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement, which limits the depth of the arguments. While the position is clear, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the mention of a personal acquaintance is a good attempt at support, but it lacks sufficient detail to fully illustrate the point. To improve, you should expand on your arguments with more detailed explanations and examples to meet the length requirement and provide a more comprehensive analysis.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'On the one side', 'Furthermore', and 'In addition'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the logical progression within paragraphs could be smoother. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the transition between the negative impacts and your personal opinion could be more effectively linked. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'good thing', 'very good condition', and 'start decreasing' are used frequently. There is an attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary such as 'agriculture sector' and 'diminishing', but the range is limited. To achieve a higher band score, you should aim to incorporate more precise and varied vocabulary, such as synonyms for 'good' or 'moving', and focus on correct collocations to express your ideas with more sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
There is a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but the essay contains frequent grammatical errors. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'population... start decreasing'), article usage, and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'people have believe', 'its very good thing to shifting'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. You should focus on proofreading for basic errors, particularly verb tenses and the use of gerunds versus infinitives, to improve the accuracy of your writing.
