Student answer (Band 6.0)
The movement of people from the countryside to the big cities is a growing trend worldwide. While this shifts offer better career opportunities for individuals, I belive that it is a negative development overall because it harms rural areas and urban resources.
On the positive side moving to the cities can improve a persones life. Cities have more jobs, better schools and modern hospitals For example young people from village often move to urban areas to get a university degree or find high paying work this helps them support their families financially and gain new skills that are not available in small towns
However this trend causes serious problem for both rural and urban areas. Firstly when young and educated people leave the countryside, village lose their most productive workers. This leads to a decline in farming and local businesses making rural areas more poorer. Moreover this can also lead problem because merto cities overcrowded
this create a heavy traffic expencive house and much pollutions. As a results quality of city life significantly drops because the infrastructure can not be handle so many people.
in conclusion, although urbnization helps individuals find better opportunities, it has a negative impact on society as a whole. and for solving this problem government should devlop villages and encourage people to stay at village

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that urbanization is a negative development. However, the essay fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 219 words. This under-length significantly impacts the development of ideas, as the arguments regarding the decline of rural areas and the overcrowding of cities are somewhat superficial and lack sufficient supporting evidence or depth. To improve, you should expand on your examples and provide more detailed explanations for your claims to ensure the response is fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite limited and sometimes mechanical. There is a lack of sophisticated linking words to connect sentences and ideas smoothly. For instance, the transition between the positive and negative aspects is abrupt. Additionally, punctuation errors, such as missing commas after introductory phrases and between clauses, hinder the flow of the text. Improving the variety and accuracy of your cohesive devices will help your ideas progress more naturally.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'big cities' and 'good opportunities'. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'belive', 'persones', 'merto', 'expencive', 'pollutions', and 'urbnization'. These errors, while not always impeding communication, are frequent enough to affect the overall quality. To achieve a higher score, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensure you proofread your work to eliminate basic spelling mistakes.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'village lose'), missing articles (e.g., 'lead problem'), and incorrect word forms (e.g., 'making rural areas more poorer'). Punctuation is also a significant weakness, with many sentences lacking necessary commas or full stops, leading to run-on sentences. You need to focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for grammatical accuracy to ensure your writing is clear and professional.
