Student answer (Band 7.0)
In recent years, the population in the countryside is declining as the people residing at rural area are shifting to cities in many countries across the world. I believe that it is an overwhelmingly positive development because it enhances academic quality of several students and promotes economic growth of the country.
The foremost reason why this trend should be viewed as a positive development is that it improves children's education. The quality of education in urban areas if far more better in comparison to rural areas as there are several well developed educational institutes in cities leading to growth of children. As a result, the students consisting potential can provide financial stability in their houses by equipping better education. For instance, a farmer's child who is not able to pursue quality education because of inadequate facilities in their village, can grasp sufficient knowledge in the schools located in urban areas.
Another reason supporting this viewpoint is that moving to cities is beneficial for the country. Due to unpredictable weather many villagers face issues and are unable to earn enough money. Moving to urban area mitigate the crises for these people by providing a job in certain fields. For instance, after working rigorously in their land, the crops of several farmers gets ruined because of climate change and provides no profit to farmer whereas residing in cities solves the challenge. Consequently, enrolling employment sector can lead to financial stability and economic growth of the nation.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that this trend represents an overall positive development because it leads to economic development of the nation and provides quality education to students.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
The response addresses the prompt clearly and maintains a consistent position throughout. You have identified two main arguments—educational opportunities and economic stability—and supported them with relevant examples. The ideas are generally well-developed, though the explanation of how rural-to-urban migration impacts the nation as a whole could be more nuanced. To reach a higher band, ensure that your examples are fully integrated into the argument; for instance, the link between climate change and urban employment is a strong point, but it could be expanded to explain the broader socio-economic impact on the country's development rather than just individual financial gain.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central topic sentence, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use cohesive devices such as 'The foremost reason', 'Another reason', and 'Consequently' to link ideas. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the referencing could be more varied. To improve, try to use a wider range of cohesive devices and ensure that the flow between sentences is smoother, avoiding repetitive structures at the start of your paragraphs.
Lexical Resource — Band 7.0
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your ideas clearly. You use topic-specific terms like 'financial stability', 'economic growth', and 'educational institutes'. However, there are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'consisting potential' (should be 'with potential') and 'enrolling employment sector' (should be 'entering the employment sector'). To achieve a higher score, focus on using less common lexical items with greater precision and ensure that your collocations sound natural in an academic context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is always clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'is far more better' (a double comparative error), 'the crops... gets ruined' (subject-verb agreement), and 'residing at rural area' (missing article). These errors do not impede communication, but they do affect the overall fluency. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Increasing the variety of complex structures, such as using more conditional or passive forms, would also help elevate your score.
