Student answer (Band 7.0)
With globalisation, various people are migrating from rural areas to metropolises. As, in modern times every individual wants to attain good level of facilities and they seek further opportunities to lead a healthy and prosperous life ahead. However, there are significant drawbacks that affect people if migration is done at greater level. In this essay, I will discuss the reasons for migration and the environmental challenges that make it more adverse.
One of the key objectives of living their hometown is for better lifestyles. With technological advancement,a variety of amenities are available for residents to live a healthy and prosperous life ahead. Nobody desires to spend their life in an area where the life remain unchanged and it still reflects the style of previous decades. Additionally, small suburbs are do not have any standardised educational institute for youngsters in modern era. Therefore, learners never compromise on their curriculum. Similarly, healthcare facilities are scarce in rural areas. It is believed that, people of quiet suburbs are suffering from serious illness owing to less attention towards treatment of diseases. This has a profound impact on individual's life.
However, there are significant drawbacks of migration. The rise in population often brings congestion in city roads. One of the most devastating problem is traffic congestion. This causes people to arrive late in any place, either workplace or schools. This can negatively affect financial and productivity . Furthermore, a great proportion of citizen can reduce job employments. This results in financial burden. Consecutively, it leads to anxiety and depression among the community.
From my own perspective, migration is imperative for people. It helps individuals to strengthen their financial arises. Thus, it is imperative to to approach certain strategies to mitigate further issues of resettlement. Policy makers have crucial role to improve particular challenges mentioned in above paragraph.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The essay addresses the prompt by discussing both the reasons for migration and the negative consequences. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the reasons for migration (lifestyle, education, healthcare) are clear, the discussion on negative impacts is slightly repetitive and lacks specific examples. The position is clear, but the conclusion is a bit abrupt and could have better synthesised the arguments presented. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is supported by a concrete example or a more detailed explanation of the causal link between the migration and the resulting social or environmental issues.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organised into paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'However', 'Additionally', and 'Consequently', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical or slightly misused (e.g., 'Consecutively' is used where 'Consequently' would be more appropriate). The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the referencing within paragraphs could be smoother to improve the flow. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the essay follows a standard structure that makes it easy for the reader to follow the writer's line of reasoning.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary like 'metropolises', 'imperative', and 'prosperous', which is positive. However, there are some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'strengthen their financial arises' (likely meaning 'financial situation') and 'standardised educational institute' (should be 'institutions'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of the writing. Expanding your range of collocations and checking word forms will help improve this score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('the life remain', 'suburbs are do not have') and awkward phrasing ('various people are migrating'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some minor errors with comma placement and spacing. The writer demonstrates an ability to construct complex sentences, but the frequency of errors prevents the writing from being considered consistently accurate. Focusing on basic subject-verb agreement and proofreading for minor slips would be beneficial.
