Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the essay attempts to address both positive and negative aspects, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient supporting evidence or examples. The position is stated in the introduction but is not consistently maintained or explored in depth throughout the body paragraphs. The conclusion is abrupt and does not effectively synthesize the arguments presented. To improve, you must expand on your points with specific examples and ensure the essay meets the length requirement to allow for a full exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is often disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes repetitive (e.g., 'In addition to this', 'Also'). Some sentences are fragmented or lack clear connections to the preceding ideas, making the flow difficult to follow. For instance, the transition between the discussion of infrastructure and the impact on farming is abrupt. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and there are frequent spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'individuels' for individuals, 'batter' for better, 'facters' for factors, 'publich' for public, and 'facelity' for facility. These errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding. The range of vocabulary is basic and lacks the precision required for a higher band score. To improve, focus on learning the correct spelling of common academic words and try to incorporate a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary related to urbanization and rural development.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('the number of inhabitants are decreasing'), missing articles, and incorrect sentence structures. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the existing sentences are often simple or contain errors that affect clarity. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing commas and periods. To achieve a higher score, you need to focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
