Student answer (Band 6.0)

In the modern era, increasing the trend in migration, people moving from vilages to urban area for many things. Therefore, suburb areas population is falling day by day, whcih is brings some negative aspects. In this essay, I will representing my personal standpoint with suitable examples.

The most compelling demrits is, government find shortages of food due to individuals is moving to citites. In simple words, if every person moveing to another place then people have ample food sources as most of population in countries are depending on agriculture products. To exemplify, as per a survey, a plethora of people in Africa suffering from mal nutrition because of lack of food availability. Apart from this, when many people are moving to cities then authorities are not fostering public facility such as transportation, road infrastructures as well as hospital facility as it required a lot of fund to build up all these facilities. Hence, ramaining people are unable to get the benefities of modern amenities.

Moreover, even though, people have better lifestyle and good job opportunities in city, people have to stay at countryside as population decreasing every day, the agriculture land will converting into infertile land. Last but not least, not only are people feel lonely at town after leaving their childrens at home but also found hard time during emergency situation, as on their difficult time there is no one are looking after them.

In conclusion, although, individuals migrate to other place for their personal and professional growth, leaving from countryside brings significant drawbacks for both governments and people who still live in there. They are face many hurdles like food shortages, lack of amenities, loneliness and soil becoming less fertile.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that rural-to-urban migration is a negative development. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While the point about food security and infrastructure is relevant, the argument regarding 'loneliness' and 'emergency situations' is somewhat underdeveloped and lacks a clear logical link to the broader societal impact of rural depopulation. The essay covers the main requirements, but the supporting arguments often rely on generalizations rather than deep analysis. To reach a higher band, you should focus on expanding your reasoning with more specific, logical explanations rather than listing multiple points briefly.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'In conclusion', and 'Apart from this' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally disrupted by mechanical or repetitive transitions. Some sentences feel disjointed, and the referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the transition between food shortages and infrastructure is abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a single, well-developed central theme would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward word choices and spelling errors, such as 'vilages', 'demrits', 'mal nutrition', and 'ramaining'. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle with collocations, such as 'fostering public facility' instead of 'maintaining public infrastructure'. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequent errors and limited range of sophisticated vocabulary prevent a higher score. Focusing on learning word families and correct spelling will significantly improve your lexical performance.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('if every person moveing', 'there is no one are looking'), incorrect verb forms ('I will representing'), and missing articles. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be distracting. To improve, you should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like tense consistency and subject-verb agreement before attempting more complex structures.
