Student answer (Band 5.0)
I think it have both positive and negative points firstly the positive points are that rural people are advancing and giving there attention in there studies however mostly people came in the city for jobs so some people hire them on low wages which is not good point. since mostly of them are coming the area so the farming is affecting a lot because they are the main reason for the farming and one more negative point that due too increase in the population in only in the exact location the environment is become weak example like Delhi and Bombay both of the city is located in India and mainly known for highly polluted environment mainly Delhi because it have more number of people then it should have for the opportunity people came there. So I think to sort this problem we have to work on the rural area or can use pollution free things in our daily life it is also we just can not stop the people form coming from rural area into the city so these are the most logical solutions in my mind right now. these solutions work in favor of all people.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you attempt to address both positive and negative aspects, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient depth. For example, the point about rural people 'advancing' in studies is mentioned but not explained or supported with evidence. Similarly, the discussion on environmental impact is brief and lacks a clear logical flow. To improve, you must expand your points with specific examples and ensure you provide a clear, consistent position throughout the essay. The current length prevents a full exploration of the topic, leading to a limited response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks paragraphing, which makes it difficult to follow the progression of your ideas. The text is presented as a single block, and the transition between the positive and negative points is abrupt. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'however' and 'so', but the overall structure is disjointed. There is a lack of clear logical sequencing, and the connection between the problem (urbanization) and the proposed solutions is weak. To improve, you should organize your essay into clear paragraphs—an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion—and use a wider variety of linking words to connect your ideas more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, which restricts your ability to express complex ideas. You rely on basic words like 'good', 'bad', 'people', and 'things'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'environment is become weak' and 'highly polluted environment'. To reach a higher band, you need to incorporate a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary related to urbanization, migration, and environmental sustainability. Focus on using more precise adjectives and nouns to describe the phenomena you are discussing, and try to avoid repeating the same words throughout the text.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'it have', 'mostly people came'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many of your sentences are run-on or lack proper punctuation, making them difficult to parse. For instance, the sentence 'example like Delhi and Bombay both of the city is located in India' is grammatically incorrect and confusing. You should focus on mastering basic sentence structures, ensuring correct verb tenses, and improving your use of punctuation to separate distinct ideas. Practicing complex sentence construction will also help improve your range.
