Student answer (Band 5.5)

The various daily need facilities and requirements are day to day increasing in urban areas which is causing a significiant role in the settlement in urban areas of rural people .

The people form rural areas are moving to cities for the fulfillment of their dreams and so they could achieve a better life. On the other hand, by staying in urban areas people cannot fulfill their desires as they are bounded by the low oppurtunities and their constant lifestyle which is like a ritual. These factors are cauing a significiant decrease in countryside. Therefore, population of urban areas is notably increasing resultantly overcrowding in public bus stations, trains and public visiting places like zoo and parks is quite common now. Moreover, hospitals are now facing a huge worload due to substantial amount of patients and it is very difficult to find a job even low tier jobs are now difficult to get. I am not saying this is all because of settlement of rural people in urban areas but it is playing a significiant role in these problems.

However, it is a negative development because rural people should be provided with basic necessities like good hospitals, good schools and better infrastructure to prevent them going to urban areas. If they are provided with these basic requiremnts a fall in the movement could be seen. Moreover, if someone is moving to urban area for a good job or to achieve his dreams a critical approach to this is very demeaning because every one have the right to do what he want to make your life better.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by identifying the migration as a negative development. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you mention urban overcrowding and the need for rural infrastructure, the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the link between rural migration and the specific examples of 'zoo and parks' is not fully explored or logically connected to the broader social impact. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-supported argument that directly answers the 'why' behind your position, rather than listing general observations.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical flow between sentences is often disjointed. Transitions like 'On the other hand' and 'Moreover' are used, but they do not always accurately reflect the relationship between ideas. For example, the transition to the second paragraph is abrupt, and the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks a clear progression of thought. The use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical, and there are instances where the connection between the rural-to-urban shift and the resulting consequences is unclear, making the reader work harder to follow your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. There is noticeable repetition of words like 'significiant' (misspelled as 'significiant' multiple times) and 'urban areas'. Some word choices are imprecise, such as 'daily need facilities' or 'constant lifestyle which is like a ritual'. To improve, you should aim to use a wider range of collocations and avoid repeating the same basic vocabulary. Spelling errors, such as 'oppurtunities', 'cauing', and 'requiremnts', also detract from the overall quality of the writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'every one have the right'), incorrect article usage, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'a critical approach to this is very demeaning'). While you attempt some complex structures, they are often marred by errors in punctuation and syntax. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect verb forms before attempting more complex, multi-clause sentences.
