Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the modern world, some individuals believe that the number of population is falling in the rural areas. Others believe that this problem is occur due to a huge number of population are moving towards urban cities and this issue has become common and has attracted significant public attention. It has become a topic of widespread debate due to its impact on individuals and society. This essay will discuss in positive aspect and present my opinion based on my experience.
To commence, one of the major advantages is that there is an benefit in cities rather than village is that convenience in food, health, clothes etc. In other words, the number of facilities have been increased in metro cities and individuals have many option to choose by their choice. In addition, there are multiple apps in which public can order food or any essential items and it will be delivered in 10 minutes. Although, the health facilities become an essential for everyone and a countryside could not provide these services due to limitation of budget. Therefore, this approach is highly beneficial.
Furthermore, another reason is why I believe is that there are multiple facilities in public transport and most of the metro Politian cities will provide ac bus and metro to commute from one place to another in few minutes. This is because there is an addition of bullet metro which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Mr. Modi in 2024 in New Delhi. In Hindustan Times 2025 news stated that more than 500 people are travelled in one time and they will cover the distance of 40km in 12 minutes due to bullet train is fast. Hence

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the movement of people from rural to urban areas, but the development is inconsistent. While you mention the benefits of urban living, such as convenience and transport, the essay lacks a clear, sustained position. The introduction states you will discuss the 'positive aspect,' but the prompt asks for your opinion on whether it is a positive or negative development. The essay ends abruptly mid-sentence ('Hence'), which means the conclusion and final summary are missing. This prevents a full development of your argument and leaves the task incomplete. To improve, ensure you provide a clear thesis statement in the introduction and fully develop your points with a proper conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay uses some basic cohesive devices like 'To commence,' 'In other words,' and 'Furthermore,' which help to signal the start of new points. However, the logical progression is hindered by the incomplete nature of the text. The paragraphing is present, but the abrupt ending significantly disrupts the flow of ideas. Additionally, some transitions are used awkwardly, such as 'Although, the health facilities become an essential,' which does not function correctly as a cohesive link. To achieve a higher band, focus on ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that the essay reaches a logical, complete conclusion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. You rely on repetitive phrasing, such as 'multiple facilities' and 'number of population.' There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'metro Politian cities' (metropolitan) and 'Hindustan Times 2025 news stated.' Some phrases are slightly unnatural, such as 'convenience in food.' To improve, try to use more academic collocations and avoid repeating the same basic nouns and verbs. Expanding your range of synonyms and using more precise terminology will help convey your ideas more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'this problem is occur' (occurs), 'there is an benefit' (a benefit), and 'more than 500 people are travelled' (travel). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the misuse of commas and the incomplete final sentence. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic subject-verb agreement and tense usage limits the score. Focus on proofreading your work to correct these fundamental errors and practice using complex sentences with more accurate subordinating conjunctions.
