Student answer (Band 5.5)
i think it is a very serious problem, that people are moving so quickly from village to citiesand the country side population is decreasing rapidly.
there are quite few reason for this migrations some are the following
first of all the major reasons the lack of basic facalities like health, education and electricity, so people are moving rapid to get these faclities and a quality of life with thier famlies. this probluem have alot of positive effect on the country becase people who lived in cities have all kind of faclities they can oder anything on thier door step, they get the best treatment for ilnes, they also have a lot of universities to get quality of education which helps thier children to improve thier life style and secure thier future.
it5 also help the country to grow more rapidly because if more and more people moves towards the city then govt can collect more tax from the people for providing such facalities to the people.
besides these few advantages there are lot of disadvantages as well as to
if most of the rwemote side people migrate towards the city then there is a lot of land which stay empty and then there is no one to tyake care of that land and no one to grow new crops on that same piece of land which may lead towards the lack of natrural resources like wheat rice and other crops which grow out of ground.
in conclusion, the migration of alot of people is not that good for agriculture of that country

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the positive and negative aspects of rural-to-urban migration. However, the position is somewhat contradictory; you initially state it is a 'serious problem' but then dedicate a significant portion of the essay to the 'positive effect' of this migration. The ideas are relevant but remain somewhat underdeveloped. For instance, the link between urbanization and government tax collection is mentioned but not fully explained or supported with specific examples. To improve, ensure your position is consistent throughout the essay and provide more detailed, logical explanations for each point raised.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the structure is weak. There is a lack of clear transition between the introduction, body paragraphs, and the conclusion. While some cohesive devices like 'first of all' and 'besides these' are used, they are often used mechanically. The flow of ideas is occasionally disjointed, particularly when shifting from the benefits of urban life to the disadvantages for agriculture. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the logical progression of your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for a higher band. There are several spelling errors, such as 'facalities', 'thier', 'ilnes', and 'probluem', which distract the reader. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle with collocations, such as 'remote side people' instead of 'rural populations'. To achieve a higher score, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensure correct spelling of common terms. Expanding your range of synonyms will also help you avoid repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement ('this probluem have'), missing articles, and punctuation issues. Sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at complex sentences are often marred by errors, such as 'if more and more people moves towards the city then govt can collect'. Punctuation is inconsistent, with missing commas and capitalization errors throughout. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
