Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays people from villages are migrating to cities in search of greener pastures. While, it gives them an employment, I firmly believe that they are squandering their culture and health.
On the one hand, township plays a crucial role in giving migrants a better job and easy accessibility to essentials like transport, medical, and education. In the city, people can travel around the world promptly in an emergency and in night time they can get access of better doctor availability, which is indispensable for a family these days. For instance, during a fire emergency in a city, the firefighters are ready to tackle the situation immediately which can save many lives. However, city life is more focused on job and hustle and bustle, less driven towards the rich culture of religion and humanity. When people live in a society, they cannot perform their ritual and beliefs due to environmental guidelines issued by municipal corporation and consequently their next generation starts forgetting cultural things.
On the other hand, relying on foods available in supermarkets which are mostly frozen and impure are highly dangerous for health in long term. Most of the items in supermarkets are packed in plastic, kept for long days and they use preservative to store item. According to medical reports, published by World Health Organization (WHO) that preservatives present in the daily consumable items are seeds of cancer. Therefore, food source of villages are still very healthy, pure and keep you away from hazardous diseases.
Consequently, people living in village remain the most healthy and are connected to their culture. The air quality is very good in rural areas because of less construction works and vehicle movement. Furthermore, festival are celebrated for weeks, lectures are organized for upcoming generation to get the knowledge of their roots and religion in the village. For example, Diwali is celebrated for five days in village, while in city, the corporate office and schools are closed for just one day.
In conclusion, while city life offer more money and accessibility, village environment provide a less polluted environment and rich cultural engagement.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that the migration is a negative development. The ideas are relevant, focusing on cultural loss and health concerns. However, the development is somewhat uneven. While the health argument is supported by a reference to the WHO, the cultural argument is slightly repetitive and relies on generalizations about city life. To reach a higher band, you should ensure that the counter-arguments (the benefits of city life) are balanced more effectively with your own position, and provide more nuanced examples rather than broad statements about 'hustle and bustle' or 'municipal corporation guidelines'.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'Consequently', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the transition from the fire emergency example to the cultural argument in the first body paragraph is abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring tighter logical connections between sentences would enhance the coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including phrases like 'greener pastures', 'indispensable', and 'hazardous diseases'. There are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'township plays a crucial role' (when referring to city life) and 'food source of villages are still very healthy'. Additionally, there are minor errors in word form, such as 'festival are celebrated' instead of 'festivals'. While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over vocabulary to reach a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the' before 'night time', 'the' before 'city life'), subject-verb agreement ('festival are', 'food source... are'), and prepositions. Some sentences are slightly awkward, such as 'in night time they can get access of better doctor availability'. Despite these errors, the meaning is generally clear throughout the response. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, specifically pluralization and article usage.
