Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 177 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, as the arguments are left underdeveloped and the conclusion is incomplete. While the response attempts to address the prompt by discussing job opportunities and urban amenities, the lack of depth and the failure to complete the final sentence prevent a full exploration of the topic. To improve, you must expand your supporting points with more detailed explanations and specific examples, and ensure you provide a clear, fully developed conclusion that summarizes your position.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay uses basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Lastly' to organize ideas, which provides a clear structure. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by awkward phrasing and grammatical errors. Paragraphing is present, but the final paragraph is incomplete, which disrupts the overall flow. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph contains a fully developed thought that transitions smoothly into the next. Improving the logical connection between sentences will help the reader follow your argument more effectively.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of unnatural word choice and collocation errors, such as 'surge population' instead of 'population surge' and 'comparably less renewable recruitment'. Some phrases are repetitive, and the word choice is often simplistic. To achieve a higher score, focus on learning collocations and using more sophisticated vocabulary related to urbanization and economics. Avoid using words incorrectly; for example, 'fascinating environment' is not the most appropriate term for urban infrastructure or amenities.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'The number of rural peoples are significantly to transfer' and 'cities could be provide'. There is a limited range of complex structures, and the attempts made are often inaccurate. Subject-verb agreement and tense usage are inconsistent throughout the text. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures before attempting more complex ones. Pay close attention to verb forms and pluralization. Proofreading your work for these common errors will significantly improve the clarity and accuracy of your writing.
