Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of rural-to-urban migration. However, the development of ideas is limited and often repetitive. For instance, the argument regarding 'facilities' and 'restaurants' is mentioned multiple times without adding depth. The position is somewhat clear, but the lack of cohesive argumentation makes it difficult to follow the writer's stance. The examples provided, such as the personal anecdote about celebrating a birthday in Lahore, are not fully relevant to the broader socio-economic implications of the topic, which limits the quality of the response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is weak. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often mechanical or misused, such as 'on the other hands' and 'in late'. The referencing is frequently unclear, making it difficult to track the relationship between sentences. The transition between the introduction, body paragraphs, and the conclusion is abrupt. While there is an attempt to structure the essay, the lack of effective linking words and the repetitive nature of the content hinder the overall flow and coherence of the writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying heavily on basic terms like 'good', 'people', and 'area'. There are frequent spelling errors, such as 'beleived', 'resturatnts', 'availible', and 'advanteges', which occasionally impede readability. The student struggles to use precise terminology related to the topic of urbanization or agriculture. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of variety and the persistent spelling mistakes prevent the response from reaching a higher band. More sophisticated vocabulary related to migration and urban development is needed.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, such as 'In my opinion that is huge advantages of that and the other hands this impact in agricultural in rural area'. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the simple sentences used often contain errors. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and periods. These frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader and indicate a lack of control over basic grammatical rules.
