Student answer (Band 6.0)
In many countries, rural people are moving to cities resulting in a countryside population decrease. I believe this is more positive than negative for the society development.
One of the main reason is the job opportunities. After the Industrial Revolution, it became hard to live based on what you plant in the countryside. The money started being concentrated in the cities and no longer in the rural area. Therefore, people was forced to move to the cities to get better jobs and have a better live. And, in terms of society development it was good, because this change helped the economy and city estructure.
According to my experience, I made the same move from the countryside to the capital and it was significantly beneficial to my personal and professional development.
In terms of personal benefits, I had the opportunity to amplify my mindset in a big city, since I was meeting lots of different people, with different backgrouns and mindsets, this really helped me to be a more open-minded person.
In other hands, I also had the opportunity to study in a better school which helped me to get well-prepared for University. I strongly believe that if I stayed living in the countryside I would probably did not do University. Therefore, all this access helped me to become a good professional, having a good career in a multi-nacional company.
In conclusion, it is more beneficial people leaving the rural area and moving to cities to have a better life and chances.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The essay addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that the migration is a positive development. The ideas regarding job opportunities and personal growth are relevant. However, the development is somewhat limited. While you mention the Industrial Revolution and personal experience, the arguments remain quite general and could benefit from more detailed explanation or broader societal examples. The conclusion is brief but restates your position clearly. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph provides a more thorough exploration of the consequences of this migration, perhaps by contrasting the benefits with the potential drawbacks to show a more balanced, critical perspective.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Therefore', 'In terms of', and 'In conclusion' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions are slightly awkward, such as 'In other hands' (which should be 'On the other hand'). The progression of ideas is generally easy to follow, but the connection between the historical context of the Industrial Revolution and your personal experience could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used naturally will help elevate your score in this area.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'multi-nacional company', 'professional development', and 'concentrated'. There are some minor errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'estructure' (structure), 'backgrouns' (backgrounds), and 'multi-nacional' (multinational). Additionally, phrases like 'do not do University' are unnatural; 'attend university' or 'pursue higher education' would be more appropriate. While you attempt to use some less common vocabulary, the precision is inconsistent. Focusing on collocations and ensuring accurate spelling will help you move into a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('One of the main reason is', 'people was forced'), tense errors ('I would probably did not do'), and prepositional inaccuracies. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and consistent verb tense usage. Incorporating more complex structures, such as conditional sentences or relative clauses, with greater accuracy will be essential for a higher score.
