Student answer (Band 6.0)
In many nations all across the world, a huge number of individuals are migrating from their villages to developed cities for the sake of good living and to avail aminities, such as advance hospitals and schools, which they hardly find in their areas. As a result their population has significantly reduced. I believe this can cause numerous poblems related to economy and tradition of any country, which we will further discuss in next two paragraphs.
First of all, it is true that moving from countryside to cities improve the lifestyle of the migrating person, for instance, he can avail good hospitals, schools and housing facilities but this can lead to the underpopulation on rural side. Firstly this can affect the economy of any agricultural nation. For example agriculture contribute 60% of the whole export of my own country Pakistan and it all done by farmers in the fields. If there will be not enough man force left there, it would result in drop in GDP of our country.
Furthermore, decreasing population of countrysides also affects the countrey's cultural horitage because in most of the countries, culture and traditional values are attached with villages and people of the cities hardly find time to take part in traditional activities due to their busy rutines. Moreover this migration also cause an increase in population in modern cities, which sometime leads to degradation of aminities available for example, we will not have not enough hospitals to treat combined population of both of the city as well as village.
Everything taken into account, I believe this is a completely a negative development and Government has to take serious actions to mitigate it. Undeniably It is basic right of both group of people to have basic facilities, which are mentioned above, in their region. and providing these in rural side can be a good way to deal with this issue.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, clearly stating a position that the migration is a negative development. The ideas regarding economic impact (agriculture/GDP) and cultural heritage are relevant and supported with examples, such as the mention of Pakistan's agricultural sector. However, the development of the argument regarding city infrastructure is slightly underdeveloped, as the link between rural-to-urban migration and the degradation of city amenities could be explained with more depth. Overall, the position is consistent throughout the essay, and the main points are logically presented, meeting the requirements for a Band 6.5 or 7.0 level of task response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. The use of cohesive devices such as 'First of all', 'Furthermore', and 'Everything taken into account' helps guide the reader through the argument. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and there are instances where referencing is a bit repetitive. For example, the use of 'this' to refer back to previous ideas is frequent, which occasionally makes the flow feel a bit stiff. Despite these minor issues, the progression of ideas is clear, and the paragraphing is appropriate for an academic essay.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing the student to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'mitigate', 'degradation', and 'heritage'. However, there are several spelling errors ('aminities' instead of 'amenities', 'poblems', 'horitage', 'rutines') and some awkward collocations ('man force' instead of 'manpower', 'rural side' instead of 'rural areas'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the score. To reach a higher band, the student should focus on accurate spelling and more natural word choices.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the' missing before 'countryside' or 'economy'), subject-verb agreement ('agriculture contribute' instead of 'contributes'), and punctuation. Some sentences are slightly clunky, such as 'If there will be not enough man force left there', which should be 'If there is not enough manpower left'. While the errors are noticeable, they rarely impede the reader's understanding of the main points. A greater focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy would improve the score.
