Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the modern world where rural people are moving to cities and the population along the countryside decreasing as taken as a considerable debate.

On the on hand people think that rural people should take part in the development to improve the global position of the country. Moreover they can grow up in the villages as well. They should gain knowledge about how the can contribute and made them self helpful for the country.

On the other hand some of the people emphasis and say that government should spent and invest on the areas which are not fully developed yet.Furthermore government should think that how to manage the population in a impressive or outstanding way because these are the necessary and basic thing for which the state can provide funds.

I think it is a positive change in the development.Everyone has the rights to think and do better for himself in a way that he can grows up or made him beneficial for his family and for his country too.Now come to the issue that the population in the countryside decreases for that purpose i think government should play a crucial role for the advancements of the downward areas so that the the people can utilize services in the rural areas also. There are too many services which are not available in villages or low class areas for instance medical services, jobs, electricity and some of the places also contains water issues.I know these problems because once i visited my aunt's village there are too many things which i think was not provided there like there is no purify water to drink in addition there were a lot of garbage outside the streets and the roads. So in conclusion i think moving towards cities is right change in development.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the migration from rural to urban areas and taking a clear position. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention that migration is a positive development, the supporting arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the explanation of why it is positive focuses on personal growth, but the connection to the broader societal impact is not fully explored. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and provides more detailed, logical explanations or specific examples to support your claims. The conclusion is present but could more effectively summarize the main points discussed in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'On the on hand' and 'On the other hand' are used, but the subsequent points do not always logically contrast or follow the expected structure. Additionally, some transitions are missing or awkward, such as 'Now come to the issue that'. The referencing is sometimes unclear, making the progression of ideas feel disjointed. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') more naturally to connect sentences and ideas within paragraphs.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward word choice, such as 'downward areas' instead of 'underdeveloped regions' or 'made him beneficial' instead of 'contribute to society'. Some phrasing is repetitive, and there are minor errors in word formation (e.g., 'purify water' instead of 'purified water'). To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to urbanization and socioeconomic development, and pay closer attention to collocations to ensure your word choices sound natural in an academic context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'population... decreasing as taken'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'government should spent'), and punctuation errors. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar limits the score. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement, correct tense usage, and the proper use of articles. Proofreading your work for these common slips will significantly improve the accuracy and readability of your writing.
